This is an interesting location this year because also
White-Tailed Kites nested in a Pine tree behind the
house. (We live in this block, on Gilbert avenue.)
The nest is barely visible in the pine tree, near
the crown. The pine tree is the one near the alley.
The kites fledged a couple of weeks ago. Two adult
kites were present since January. Last week I saw
an arial flight involving three kites in close
formation. However I haven't seen or heard the
kites for a few days so maybe the young birds are
dispersing into the neighborhood.
I often hear Pygmy Nuthatches in this area but didn't
notice the nest.
There is plenty of Barn-Owl evidence at the base
of the palms.
