Birders-
I saw Rufous, Allen's and Anna's hummingbirds during late afternoon
contesting the tree described by Mike. While watching, a Yellow-shafted type Flicker
landed near the top. It had a red malar. On the blind curve on Calaveras near
the dirt parking lot a male Wild Turkey dodged cars, motorcycles, and bicycles
to get to the other side of the road. Why? Because that was where all the
action was. His buds were on the hillside beyond the residences futily displaying
to several females. Also in the area - a tailless Black Phoebe.
