Along foggy Morrell Road today (3/12), close to Los Gatos Creek, I heard a
singing PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER, WARBLING VIREO, and WILSON'S WARBLER (1 of
each). GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS were singing at a couple of spots, and a PILEATED
WOODPECKER was drumming in the vicinity of Lake Elsmen. 3-4 RED CROSSBILLS
flew over near the junction with Summit Road.
A male HOODED ORIOLE was near Middlefield Road x Ensign Way in Palo Alto. It
was calling often, but did not sing, yet presumably was an early migrant.
