Re: [SBB] Am. Dipper and Varied Thrush

Thanks to Dean Manley for excellent direction to the VARIED
THRUSHES and AMERICAN DIPPER at Stevens Creek County Park.

Photos of both species are posted at:

The Lakeside picnic area seems to be a high probably site
for seeing Varied Thrush. Photo ops are good, but not
certain. There were quite a few people around the picnic
area Sunday. The level of activity often kept the thrushes
out of photo range. I suspect that the photo ops will be
better early in the morning during the week, when there
isn't as much recreational activity there. For those
without an annual park pass, you can park free along
Stevens Creek Rd. right beside the Lakeside picnic area.
(It costs $5 to drive into the picnic area.)

I only saw one DIPPER, a juvenile. It was, indeed, just
upstream from the third bridge, as Dean noted. There's
a parking pull-out just past the bridge.
