I was walking out as Jack returned.  In fact, both Skimmer chicks are
still being brooded by adults on the second island.  (They are of course
appreciably larger than they were last weekend.)  While the island has
many Gulls, there was a substantial gap in teh gull population for
perhaps 10 yards on each side of the Skimmers, so they are evidently 
keeping the area clear, although I didn't see any interactions while 
I was there.

By the way, I spotted the two Black Terns on a wooden structure out in
A16 from the far end of island 3.  The crossbar one was on must have
been prime real estate, because a Forster's Tern evicted it.
