I went to Shoreline Lake again this morning, hoping for a photogenic EARED
GREBE in full breeding plumage. I did see at least six of the birds, but
they were all in mid-molt -- a picture of one is posted. There were two
singing BULLOCK'S ORIOLES (pic) in the northeast corner of the lake, not
far from the boathouse. A CASPIAN TERN circled over the lake, and both a
female NORTHERN HARRIER and a WHITE-TAILED KITE (pic) were working the
brush on the north side of the lake.
