I know that birders are not supposed to get upset over the actions of
birds, and I was shocked years ago when our bird teacher made a
startling confession. He couldn't stand the Cal Towhee chip note
repeated ad nauseam early in the morning, waking him up.
Well, now we have one. Our juvenile Scrub Jay. It begs all day
long, and has been for days and days, even when it is standing knee
deep in bird seed. I am sure that it is just as much a nuisance to
its parents. I think that the juvenile should be spanked and sent to
his/her room, unfortunately its room is our yard.
Well, one of these days it will grow up, and learn to harass all the
other birds at the feeders, as its parents do. It is still a pretty
bird.
