Hi All--
Some other interesting birds seen at Cunningham this morning:
a sooty FOX SPARROW in the northwestern corner (late?!)
a BURROWING OWL on the perimeter fence in the northwestern corner
( BUOW also seen several times
last week)
a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE flying from the East edge of Cunningham to the
airport area
And for fun, two crows and a northern mockingbird harassing a
Red-shouldered Hawk who was really just minding his own business (lunch?). The
Red-shouldered Hawk kept relocating to different perches on the water slides, and
the harassers finally gave up. Boy is that hawk in for a shock in a week or
two when Raging Waters opens...
Incidentally, the SPOTTED SANDPIPER has been a regular for the last week
in the seasonal pond on the north end of the lake.
