This morning (30 Sep), I birded along the lower Guadalupe River, on the west
side of the river at the Ulistac Open Space and Lick Mill Park and along the
east side downstream from River Oaks Parkway. The highlight was a Blackpoll
Warbler, likely HY female, at Ulistac. The bird was in a clump of tall
cottonwoods immediately downstream from (north of) a live oak on the
outboard side of the levee along the river, toward the northern end of the
open space area. Some other migrants/birds of interest included:
3 Red-breasted Sapsuckers (my first of the fall)
1 Western Wood-Pewee
2 "Western" Flycatchers
1 Warbling Vireo
3 House Wrens
21 Orange-crowned Warblers (10 at Lick Mill Park alone)
35 Yellow Warblers
2 Townsend's Warblers
1 MacGillivray's Warbler
3 Wilson's Warblers
14 Western Tanagers
