[SBB] Blackpoll Warbler

I birded the short distance from Crossview Ct. to Lake Almaden on the
Alamitos Creek Trail at noon today. The trail was crowded with walkers
and bikers but also quite birdy. Many birds were catching termites,
which emerged from their burrows after the rain.

A BLACKPOLL WARBLER was seen a few yards south of the pedestrian bridge.
It foraged in a willow and flew into a small oak tree very close to me.
I also saw one Common Yellowthroat, a Warbling Vireo and several Yellow
rumped Warblers. At least 20 Yellow Warblers were seen in a span of 50
yards. A flock of about 15 Western Bluebirds flew across the creek and
perched in a Sycamore tree. There also seemed to be an unusual number of
dragonflies flying about.

Another mystery warbler was heard only. It was sulking low in the dense
willows near Crossview Ct. giving a thin metallic spink call. I've spent
more time looking for that bird than I care to admit.
