All
This morning (9/23) the two WHITE-FACED IBIS were still in the far western
edge of the Lockheed-Martin marsh (best viewed from the western edge of the hill
located near the Sunnyvale Water Treatment Facility parking lot. I also
had at least one LARK SPARROW near the trails on the east side of the hill and
west of the nearby channel. VAUX'S SWIFTS were flying low over the
hilltop. Later behind the Palo Alto Water treatment Facility I had a
juvenile CHIPPING SPARROW feeding on the ground with a group of 8 -10
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS. I had a lot of fun watching YELLOW WARBLERS,
Yellow-rumped Warblers and a couple WESTERN FLYCATCHERS as they were caught
insects as the insects flew up from the ground. Lots of action but
the most fun was that it all took place at a low level (really nice after
once again spending a couple hours checking out the Cottonwoods in
Sunnyvale Baylands Park, for naught) :-(
Take care,
Bob Reiling
