[SBB] Blue-footed Booby: Alviso

Hi. Caitlin Robinson, Roy Churchwell, Sherry Hudson and I (San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory) visited the Alviso Marina in search of the Blue-footed booby at 3:45 p.m. When we arrived, we saw the booby diving over pond A11. We watched this bird feeding (diving) for approximately 10 minutes. The bird appeared to be immature with a white belly and some white visible under the wings. The bird moved on to the next pond (A10) where it proceeded to feed for a few minutes. By the time we reached pond A10 the bird had disappeared.

I hope that others get a chance to see it. What a fantastic bird!

(Note: Clyde Morris from USFWS reported the bird to us. USGS originally found the bird.)
