[SBB] out of the area... Consumnes River Preserve.

Well, Bob Power told me I had to get out to Consumnes to see the
Cranes come in at dusk. Boy, was he right... Trip report for Saturday
is here:

http://chuqui.typepad.com/chuqui_30/2007/11/birdwatching-at.html

highlight, of course, were the sandhill cranes. Lots of winter ducks,
but nothing you won't find at Redwood Shores (but that's not the
point, of course). And one heck of a sunset. Probably my last road
trip for a bit, I've been putting off "real" work for a while, but
with the weather we've been having and the rain holding off, I've been
taking advantage of it while I can...

If you haven't gotten out there, folks, go. right now, the cranes are
numbered in the low hundreds in the public area. It'll continue to
fill up for a while, but you won't be disappointed.

thanks, bob.
