Hello SBBirders---
The RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH that overwintered in our Los Altos yard was
seemingly absent for a few days in February, but re-appeared and was quite
active and vocal. The last date we observed this bird was March 16. The
TOWNSEND'S WARBLER left about the same time.
On Saturday March 17 we added a new species to our yard list---a male
MERLIN was perched in a sycamore over Permanente Creek.
A BEWICK's WREN is busy making a nest under the eaves of our home. One
morning last week I heard three separate BEWR singing in our cul-de-sac.
