Two loops around the Charleston Road Marsh around noon yesterday yielded good looks at a WILSON'S SNIPE, three female HOODED MERGANSERS, two GREEN HERONS, a BELTED KINGFISHER, and a FOX SPARROW, as well as small flocks of the expected American Robins, Bushtits, Lesser Goldfinches, American Goldfinches, House Finches, Golden-Crowned Sparrows, White-Crowned Sparrows, and Dark-eyed Juncos.
Also observed were Anna's Hummingbird, Hermit Thrush, Nuttall's Woodpecker, American Crow, Ruby-Crowned Kinglet, Song Sparrow, Common Yellowthroat, Red-Tailed Hawk, Mallard, and Red-winged Blackbird.
Soaring overhead we noted a flock of Gulls (sp.) which included at least one Glaucous-Winged Gull.
