SBBers,This morning, 01/10/07, I didn't see the Ruff along the EEC entrance road so I biked out to A16. I spotted the heads of the 2 ROSS'S GEESE protruding out of the pickleweed in New Chicago Marsh near the boardwalk. Then I saw a GLAUCOUS GULL (I'll take Bob Reiling's ID that it is a 1st cycle) on the 3rd island that had a dark eye and white primaries that were whiter than the Glaucous Gull that Mike Rogers found on Monday and I digiscoped. After seeing the picture of the Glaucous Gull that I took on Monday, Bob believes that Monday's Glaucous Gull is the same one that he had on his field trip on Sunday. After the excitement of the ICELAND GULL I saw the 3 SANDERLINGs fly as Bob was trying to get them in his scope. On my way out I saw the male RUFF along the entrance road. (Yeah!)At this point it was getting really breezy but I decided to bike out to see the Pelagic Cormorant but it wasn't there. Hearing hunters' shooting, I didn't linger. One more stop: There were 29 to 30 BLACK SKIMMERs in Charleston Slough and 1 male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE in Shoreline Lake. As I was leaving I saw 8 to 10 CLIFF SWALLOWs flying over Coast Casey Forebay.Peggy Don
