[SBB] Redwood Shores birding Jan 1

Birders:

My husband and I birded various places in San Mateo County yesterday to
start off the New Year. Best birds were:

Male Red head Duck at the end of Keelson Circle in Redwood Shores across
the slough. Also along the water's edge was a perched Green Heron.

A Spotted Sandpiper was seen at the water's edge of the little park at
the junction of Bark Drive and Starboard, also in Redwood Shores.

One pair of Hooded Mergansers was at Radio Pond. They were perched on a
levy/island beyond the one way road east of the main pond where there is
a 3 minute traffic light and huge road equipment. On the bayside just
west of the main pond were 3 Dunlin and at least one Semipalmated Plover
in with the Willets and Marbled Godwits. A flock of 75+ Long-billed
Curlews were in the field nearby.

Good Birding in 2007!
