This morning (Fri, 2/23) between 8:30-8:45 am I made a brief check of
Calero Reservoir from the boat ramp.
One adult BALD EAGLE was seen at its usual perch - a small oak at the
southwest end of the reservoir.
I counted 106 COMMON MERGANSERS and 21 EARED GREBES in the water at
the southwestern end. Although I didn't try for an accurate count, I
estimate that close to 100 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS were present
throughout the reservoir also.
TREE SWALLOWS were flying here and there with some making low passes by the
boat ramp.
