[SBB] Canadian Rocky Mts. Junco

Hello,

I visited Barbara Harkleroad's yard in the Almaden area for some wonderful 
looks at the CANADIAN ROCKY MOUNTAINS variant of the SLATE-COLORED JUNCO. 
Her bird is a male with a distinctive black hood, dark gray back and wings 
and a pink bill.  It was a most interesting bird to watch.  It moved from 
cover to a ground feeding area and back by running.  I never did see it fly. 
The bird showed up at 4:00 just as Barbara had predicted.
