After dinner tonight I thought I'd give the Baird's
a shot and I parked at the small lot by the closed gate and birded back to the
end of the EEC entrance road with no luck. On my way back to the car by the
metal pole in the channel about 2/3 of the way to the car it was quite
close to the road giving a westen a hard time for some unknown reason. It posed
for several seconds exactly as shown in Kaufman's guide. This was at 7:35 just
as the sun was beginning to go down. I looked in my list and my first and only
Baird's was seen at the same place on 7/29/04. Same bird?
