[SBB] Blue-winged Teal; Vaux's Swifts

Hi all:

Freddy Howell and I co-lead a walk for Leadership
Sunnyvale this afternoon at Donald M. Somers Water
Pollution Control Plant. A quarter mile west of the
plant we had a male and female BLUE-WINGED TEAL
snoozing along the channel that leads back to Yahoo's
back parking lot.

There was a flurry of swallows (a gulp of swallows?)
including Barn, Violet-green, Northern Rough-winged,
Cliff and Tree swallows, and through the course of our
one-hour walk I spotted two VAUX'S SWIFTS. It could
certainly have been one individual.

Good Birding,

Bob Power
Oakland, CA
