All,
This morning Frank Vanslager and I took a cool walk (39 degrees at the
start) up the unmercifully vertical Grizzly Gulch Trail in Henry Coe
Park and had great views of the singing CANYON WREN. Some other birds
seen or heard included ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER, BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, WESTERN
BLUEBIRD, TOWNSEND'S WARBLER, WILSON'S WARBLER, ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLER, several YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, LESSER GOLDFINCH, HUTTON'S VIREO,
WARBLING VIREO, and a pair of WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCHES taking worms to a
knothole in a tree near a junction in the trail. RED-TAILED HAWK,
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK and AMERICAN KESTREL were also seen but we dipped on
the Swifts.
Take care,
