Good afternoon all.....
Went out to Palo Alto Baylands to check on the Black-crowned Night Herons
and the Snowy Egrets nesting....was thrilled to see three BCNH chicks being
brooded! BCNH chicks rule! (second to GBHE chicks that is).....A Great
Egret was also gathering twigs for its nest....Lots of broken shells under all
the trees....The smaller blue shell is that of the BCNH and the larger blue
shells are those of the Egrets.....found two white eggs unhatched....guess those
are duck eggs?
Walked around and found a pair of Clark's Grebe in the water by the parking
lot by the Environmental Center....
Back at the Ranger's Station I had a Fox Sparrow....lots of Bushtits and
Anna's Hummers.
I went over to Geng Road to find the Cattle Egret...no luck but got a
Hooded Oriole.
Wishing you all good birding and my best regards,
