Hi SBBers,
4/6/07. Today I spotted a female LAWRENCE'S GOLDFINCH putting what
appeared to be final touches on her nest at Ed Levin. While she diligently
continued her work three males chased each other around the vicinity with
great vigor and lots of noise.
The nest is in a redwood tree across the road from the hang glider parking
lot. The tree is approximately 75 feet straight across the road from the
roofed information box at the parking lot entrance. The nest can be seen
from the road side of the tree and is about 40% of the tree's height up.
Far enough up , I think, to not be disturbed by folks on the ground but
also lookin a little vulnerable to a hunting Coop's.
