The first-winter FRANKLIN'S GULL was cooperatively feeding in the outflow
channel at Sunnyvale Ponds between 11 and 12 this morning (9/30), when I
walked out there.

On another matter, out of county, does anyone have a view whether this is a

Photographed at the mouth of the Salinas River a week ago. I assumed it was
another of the many Forster's present when I took the picture, but on
looking at the photo, it fit features of COTE I find in my books. (More
