Folks I saw a juvenile Baird’s Sandpiper from
the access road to the EEC today. It was on the New Chicago Marsh side, about ¾
down the road before it bends to the left. This seems rather late in the season
to me. Bob, Dunlin molt up north before they
migrate down. The juveniles sometimes have dense black spotting below, even on
the belly. Either an adult showing black on the belly or a fresh juvenile would
be unusual here, any idea which age it was? Cheers Al Alvaro Jaramillo [[email protected]] Half Field Guides - Birding http://www.fieldguides.com/home.htm From:

limp seems to be less obvious than when originally found.] We also
had three to four WILLSON'S PHALAROPES in the pond adjacent to the Take care, Bob Reiling --
