[SBB] Tennessee Warbler

Hi Birders-

Sorry, could not post sooner. I was at Sunnyvale Baylands Park this morning from about 7 to 8. After checking the cottonwoods and nearby eucs I went over to the nearby playground, the one near the entrance. I found the Tennessee Warbler in a partially downed, or heavily leaning, tree behind the red steel shade structure. A couple of looks and it was gone. Always good to start the day with a state-bird. A warbler with wing bars back at the cottonwoods may have been the Blackpoll, but it never really showed itself. Also around were a Pacific-Slope flycatcher and Western Tanager. I came back in the mid-afternoon. Only a few Yellow and Orange-crowneds and one Townsend's  remained. In the Tennessee tree I saw my first Lincoln's Sparrow of the season. Observant readers may have noticed I mispelled the greeting in my last post about the Ruff. I wrote 'Birfers-'. What I meant to write was 'Barfers-'. Sorry.

Dave Weber,
Milpitas
