Hi all:
I poked around Coyote Valley this afternoon for a
little bit. The wind and cold kept just about
everything hunkered down. At the west end of Laguna
Ave, I had an adult Golden Eagle swoop in for a
squirrel. Missed. Must have been a wind-adjustment
thingy. At the west end of Palm Ave (off of Santa
Teresa, maybe a mile south of Bailey/Santa Teresa) a
large raptor swooped in for another squirrel. The big
raptor quickly morphed into an adult Ferruginous Hawk.
Good birding,
Bob Power
