[SBB] MDAS Sat sightings of Skimmers, BW Teal, & No Waterthrush

Hello Birders,

Yesterday, Sat., Nov. 18th I led a trip for Mount Diablo Audubon to
Charleston Slough in Mountain View and vicinity. Among the usual ducks
and shorebirds at Charleston Slough we had a pair of Blue-winged Teal
resting on shore along the second slough on the left of the main
walkway. Further down off of Charleston Road, behind the Seimans and
Omnicell buildings we heard the Northern Waterthrush chipping and had
brief looks at it in the marsh along the path nearest the volleyball net
with the bright blue trim along the top of the net. At the Radio
Station Pond in Redwood Shores (off of Redwood Shores Parkway and Radio
Road)there were at least 13 Black Skimmers sleeping on land to the left
side with a male Blue-winged Teal bathing behind them. One Pacific
Golden-Plover was off by himself on the right of the pond. There were
two pairs of Hooded Mergansers in the slough parallel to Radio Road on
the west side. In the first lagoon on Davit Lane, just west of Shell
Parkway, were 2 White-fronted Geese and at least one Barrow's Goldeneye.
We did not find the Redhead Duck that was reported to us earlier.
