[SBB] White-throated Sparrow at Calero Res.

All,

Yesterday, Brian Christman and I spotted a tan-striped WHITE-THROATED SPARROW at the trail head leading toward Calero Reservoir from the corral. The bird was associating with GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS as expected. It was impressive how many WILD TURKEYS were in attendance, especially so close to Thanksgiving... safety in numbers, I suppose. The reservoir had huge numbers of CANADA GEEESE and as previously reported, several CACKLING GEESE. We counted about ten, I think. We searched, but did not find any Aleutian individuals. COMMON MERGANSERS were numerous as were BUFFLEHEAD and 3-4 COMMON GOLDENEYE. Most exciting were two immature PEREGRINE FALCONS that duelled overhead and called loudly. How exciting that was, a high speed pursuit! Two GOLDEN EAGLES were visible on a distant power tower.

Three GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were still present on the Palo Alto Golf Course visible from the end of Geng Road, but we could not relocate the other Goose species.
