All,
Thanks to Bill Bousman; Frank Vanslager and I got good views of a BLACK
BRANT (county life bird #330 for me) and three GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE
(two adults and one juvenile) on the northern edge of the Palo Alto Municipal
Golf Course. Later as Al De Martini, Frank and I checked out the birds at
the "Duck Pond" a CACKLING GOOSE flew in from the golf course with
a flock of CANADA GEESE. Later, at the Yacht Harbor
entrance Frank counted at least a dozen Whimbrel feeding on the edge
of the bay. I should also note that large numbers of BONAPARTE'S GULLS
were once again seen flying from the Yacht Harbor mud flats to the Palo Alto
Water Treatment Facility.
Take care,
Bob Reiling
