[SBB] Continuing Brant

Folks,

This morning, 11/13/06, I stopped near the muni GC pond on Geng Road
in Palo Alto to look for the rare geese seen yesterday. Moments
later Bob Reiling and Frank Vanslager showed up. There were a few
feral Canadas here, but that was about it. Two female COMMON
GOLDENEYES were the first I've seen this fall. The three of us then
walked downstream along the bike path, but there were no geese on the
golf course. Bob and Frank decided to head for Byxbee Park, while I
continued on to check the pond at the end of Connor Street in East
Palo Alto. As I approached the pond, a small flock of Canadas flew
out and crossed over to the golf course. In that flock was the
BRANT. A few moments later, the entire flock of 60+ Canadas left to
graze on the golf course. When I walked back to Geng, there were two
sizeable flocks grazing near the runway side and one included the
Brant. With luck, Bob and Frank saw them later.

No sign of the other rare/uncommon geese.

Bill
