[SBB] Chickadees & a rat

I saw something unusual on my patio yesterday:

I have chickadees nesting in a nestbox over the patio. In broad daylight a 
rat crept onto the patio to forage on fallen birdseed. On seeing the rat, 
the two chickadee parents dive-bombed it, pecking it on the back very 
quickly. Needless to say, the rat was very startled and ran off.
