On Sunday I observed a pair of Common Mergansers COME down Alamitos
Creek. They stopped just short of Almaden Lake, and apparently
dismayed by all of the people, they started slowly working their way
back up stream. There was also one WEKI in the trees around the
restrooms, and a male BUOR quietly watching everyone from only 8' up in
the same area. My peak Nutmeg Mannakin count was 16. Years from now
we can bring tourists here and say "This is where the eruption started."
