No, the species has been regular around San Diego for at least a couple
of decades -- one can sometimes find three or four of them feeding at the
San Diego River channel. I think it's also occasional in Orange County,
but notable anywhere else in CA. I wouldn't be surprised if Santa Clara
comes in third in records, but Bill would know better.
