[SBB] Northern Waterthrush

Hi all,

I've been a frequent visitor to the Charleston Rd marsh lately as I like
the place and it's only 5 minutes from home. This morning I got lucky with
my second 2006 (2/7 10:30am) sighting of the NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH. The
location was on the usual south side of the marsh but nearer the east
(pumphouse) end than the previous view. There are four sheets of plywood
on the trail and about 18 feet east of the eastern most sheet of plywood is
an obvious access to the waters edge. I was standing at the waters edge
when the bird came zipping in about 5 feet in front of me and went into a
bramble of bare limbs and twigs about 15-20 feet up stream (west).
Chipping begain immediately as well as movement toward the ground. I
barely added a visual id before he dissappeared from sight and went silent.

A flock of 8 CEADAR WAXWINGS were in the trees just south of the SE corner
of the marsh. There have been a lot of Ruby-crowned Kinglets in the area
for at least the last couple of weeks but today I saw the first raised red
crest on two individuals. Yesterday good looks of a DOWNY WOODPECKER were
had as well as a more distant NUTTAL'S WOODPECKER. A Wilson's Snipe is
seen from time to time.
