The GREATER-WHITE FRONTED GOOSE from Penitencia Creek Park, 12/25/06

The CACKLING GOOSE from Foster City, 12/26/06. When I saw the photos from Eyal, I thought it was a good candidate for _minima_

However it is not that different from the bird from Coyote Creek Golf Course that was identified as ALEUTIAN CACKLING GOOSE.

One of the pictures is a side-by-side comparison with a CANADA GOOSE.

Also included is a MEW GULL from EEC entrance road, Alviso, 12/23/06 with pale eyes. As per Al Jaramillo that is unusual but within the range of variation expected for Mew Gull. The structure, shape of head, and splotchy (vs. streaky) markings do no indicate a Kamchatka Gull.
