For the last approx 2 weeks, we've had an influx of robins around
my house in Los Altos. When I go outside approx 7:15/8 am,
there's a flock of 50 or so in the Chinese pistache trees
eating berries, chasing each other, perching in the Modesto ash,
calling loudly back and forth, etc. I've seen a few flocks of cedar
waxwings fly overhead, but they haven't flocked to the yard.
Around 8:30, the robins line up at my birdbath--4 on the bath,
4 or 5 perched in the tree awaiting a turn, and others on the
wire or nearby trees thinking about a bath. They've given
me great amusement, watching robins bathe while I'm
listening to a phone conference!!! ;-) And then--the robins
depart for parts unknown.
usually we'll have flights come thru, but leave after a while...
wonder how long these guys will stay.
