All,
Over lunch today 12/12/06, I scoped Shoreline Lake from its Terminal
Ave. end, hoping for new storm-driven rarities. The birds I found were
similar to those reported recently by others, including 3 BARROW'S
GOLDENEYES (2 adult males, 1 female), 8 BROWN PELICANS (3 juveniles, 5
adults), and 64 SURF SCOTERS. Scoping nearby Salt Pond A1 from its
southwest corner, I located an adult male EURASIAN WIGEON and 10+
REDHEADS (evenly split between adult males and females). Somewhat
surprising for the time of year was a flyover calling SEMIPALMATED PLOVER.
