Birding in Guadalupe Oak Grove Park this afternoon and not finding much
other than Yellow rumped Warblers, I decided to walk along the fence in
adjoining Jeffrey Fontana Park. At least 100 Am. Robins were on the
grass, in the trees or eating Pyracantha berries along the fenced
Villa's property. A flock of about 40 Cedar Waxwings were also eating
berries. I heard a loud continuous unfamiliar chip call and found a tan striped White-throated Sparrow or possible 1st winter WTSP in the Pyracantha. I was able to get within a few feet of the sparrow which was west of fitness station # 13. Janna Pauser Almaden Valley |
