I don't want to start a thread on this, but on previous visits to Bonfante
Gardens (Gilroy) in June and July, I've seen over 20 Violet-green
Swallows hawking over the "lake" with the duck paddle-boats.
I agree that this horticultural-centered park has some very nice shade
trees and other plantings and is adjacent to some good natural
habitat, but whenever I've been to the park I've always been too busy
shepherding grandkids around to be able to pay much attention to seeking out
wild birds.
I suspect more wild birds may be there, especially during the quiet times,
such as early morning hours and off-season.
