Howdy SBBers....
WOW, what great weather to watch great birds.
The Red-shouldered Hawks are nesting in my backyard....so amazing to watch
the behavior. There seems to be two pairs in Rinconada Hills plus a pair of
Red-tailed. Lot's of fighting between the Red-shouldered over territory. They
are taking small birds for food....
I still have about 15-20 Pine Siskins at my feeders as well as Oak Titmice,
Chickadees, House Finch, American and Lesser Goldfinch, Juncos, both Towhees,
a pair of Nuttall's, a wonderful Thrasher and Mourning Doves.
Yesterday I watched what looked like Painted Ladies fly by in packs of 3-5
at a time for about one hour non stop....I have never seen this before...it was
so amazing....must have been a migration of some kind....
Wishing you all good birding and my best regards,
Linda
PS The Screech Owl box in my backyard was only put up (by the association)
two weeks ago...no wonder I didn't notice it when I moved in...DUH!
