Good evening SBBers.....
What a great day for birding around Rinconada Hills.....
Saw my first male Western Bluebird (hope it nests in the boxes that are up
are Rinconada Hills). Watched a pair of Crows making a nest....The Chickadees
are taking the dog and cat fur I put out for the nests....watched them go
into the Euc trees with it.....There are a pair of Green Herons at the pond in
beautiful breeding plumage...WOW...
Also, the Pinesiskins are still at my feeders, only the numbers went from
40-60 to about 15......The Red-shouldered Hawks have been in the backyard daily
as well as a single Bewick's Wren, Spotted Towhee, White and Gold-crowned
Sparrows, a pair of CA Towhees, Juncos and House Finch. A singing Thrasher was
not only wonderful to watch but great to listen to.....
Found a cool Western Screech Owl box in my own backyard....it was hidden by
the pine trees....bet I'll be watching that box daily!
Wishing you all good birding and my best regards,
Linda Sullivan
