[SBB] Killdeer still at Los Gatos Perc Ponds

The nesting Killdeer reported a few days ago is still at the
Los Gatos Creek Perk Ponds, just in from the entrance station
with the site roped off with yellow tape.

She wasn't on the nest around noon, but was foraging nearby, and came
back to sit in several different places in the grass.  I couldn't tell
whether any of them was the real nest (didn't want to get too close and
upset her, although she didn't seem upset about the cars and bicyclists
and dog-walkers going past on the road).

Also seen: several Cackling Geese, mingling with the much larger
Canada Geese, but seeming more shy about begging for handouts
from picnickers, and a lone Osprey, flying high overhead and
calling.  I didn't see any unusual ducks, but there was
one fairly interesting fight right near the picnic tables between
a couple of male mallards, one with a green head and one in eclipse
plumage: the eclipse won, pulling feathers off the green's head and
holding the green's head under water.  Then they and another eclipse
swam off amicably together.
