RE: [SBB] Henry Coe Park, Manzanita Point

Reply to: RE: [SBB] Henry Coe Park, Manzanita Point
In reference to Bob's hoped for Black-chinned Sparrows at Coe. The only records for that species are from early May up through mid-June, when they can be found (rarely) singing in the chamise in a few widely scattered portions of the park. It is possible they breed there (breeding bird atlas records exist from just outside the park boundaries), but if they do, they are very quiet about it. In my experience, they have been most often found in chamise which has been burned over in the last couple of years. Currently, those conditions don't exist anywhere near manzanita Point.
