[SBB] Almaden Lake 7/13

This morning before work I birded Almaden Lake Park and Los Alamitos
Creek. In the area between Cross Springs Drive and the creek I saw an
immature Black-headed Grosbeak and an Ash-throated Flycatcher. Along the
creek trail I saw Bullock's Oriole, 2 Green Herons, 2 Belted Kingfishers,
a single Nutmeg Mannikin and a bobcat being mobbed by Scrub Jays. At the
lake there were orioles everywhere. I saw at least one female Hooded
Oriole and many Bullock's. Near the small island by the inlet 12 female
Hooded Mergansers were hunting together, almost walking on the water to
gain speed and then diving under for fish. In a gum tree along the edge of
the lake I saw a male Western Tanager. I watched him for a couple of
minutes until an pale, all yellow bird (female WETA?) flew up next to him
and they quickly flew off together.
