Howdy all....
Today (this afternoon) I made a stop at the Sunnyvale Water Treatment Center
and saw a Common Moorhen as my first bird....An immature Black-crowned Night
Heron as well as an Adult....Had a rail calling by the cement bench and
garbage can on the right side of the trail....must have been a Sora?
I walked down towards the radar tower (which was on today, first time I have
seen it moving)...and where the black terns are usually seen in that area by
the pumps I saw twenty juvie and adult Barn Swallows and one Bank
Swallow....I watched it for about 15 minutes...the swallows would flush and then I
would wait till the Bank settled down on the wire... Looked like the one I saw in
Oregon two weeks ago....nice breast band.... Can someone check it out
....thanks
>From the SWTC I decided to check out Alviso, usually there is a Bank Swallow
that shows up there.....but not today....Alviso was quiet and so was the EEC.
Wishing you all good birding and my best regards,
Linda Sullivan
