| I saw the SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER today from 1:10 to 1:25p in the location noted below, hanging out with the species noted. I saw at least two Dunlin and two Western Sandpipers nearby, among the crowd of Least Sandp. It gave about as good as it got with a few aggressive Least Sandp. It foraged on the far shore as well as into the water. I was able to follow the bird about as it flushed periodically with the rest of the crew. Finally, as most of the other sandpipers left in groups at around 1:25p, I could see the Sharp-tailed Sandp. flying alone off to the northwest. NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWLS have been vocalizing occasionally in the early morning and late night around the house doing both the long string of toots and the more aggressive-sounding whistle-like call. This is along Skyline Blvd. across from Long Ridge OSP. Les Chibana On Dec 14, 2005, at 2:15 PM, richard cimino wrote:
