All,
This morning Frank Vanslager and I had a juvenile BLACK TERN on the
boardwalk in Salt Pond A2E (about 1/3 of the way from the northern edge of the pond).
Shortly after being found the BLTE flew providing good views of the overall
dark upper wing. The BLTE was later re-found about 1/3 of the distance from
the southern edge of the boardwalk. About 10:30 the BLTE flew south to
Crittenden Marsh and out of sight. Once again, however, the BLTE was re-found
about 1/3 of the distance from the southern edge of the pond (a bit more south
then before it flew to Crittenden Marsh). The BLTE was still there when we
left at about 11:15. A quick count revealed 127 LEAST TERNS on the boardwalk.
Take care,
Bob Reiling
