Hello,
I also had my very first selasphorus hummer in my los gatos yard on Wednesday. It looked very much like a male rufous, however I'd certainly be willing to conceed it was an allen's based on likelihood and population patters. He was attracted to honeysuckle which is also an Anna's favorite.
